Best Syntax Highlighter for WordPress

Code is important on a site that talks about code. Since I am trying to neatly organize code so people can quickly read it, understand it and copy and paste it to work with on their own projects, I need a syntax highlighter that is reliable and updated often as a WordPress plugin. I was using Google’s prettify but that plugin for WordPress hasn’t been undated in 2 years and I was having problems with it outputting wacky characters. I tried to fix it but after a few hours wasted I gave up and looked for another highlighter. The one I’m using now is CodeColoring. So far so good.

It’s output looks like this:
[cc lang=”css”]
.navbar-inverse a {
color: white;
background-color: black;
&:hover, &:focus {
color: white;
background-color: black; } }
[/cc]
