Coffeescript to JavaScript

Some of the early Meteor Chef recipes use coffeescript in their tutorials. A lot of the JavaScript developers I know love CoffeeScript as it improves their productivity. I may be in the minority but I’m not a fan of coffeescript.

So whenever I see it, I end up converting it back to JavaScript. Here’s a great copy and paste tool to help you do the same thing.

I’m open to discussion on the pros and cons of Coffeescript. Please feel free to share them in the comments.

  1. I’ve never used Coffescript, but recently I’ve been using TypeScript. After using C# for several years I’ve come to appriciate the benefits of a strongly typed language. TypeScript essentially brings typing to JS. I definitely recommend checking it out. It really helps with keeping your JS clean and stable. If you use an IDE with intellisense then you’ll be able track down errors long before you run it in the browser.
