Mac Permissions Problems solved

Coming from the world of PCs this was a scary problem for me. I was working on my web project on my Mac Air with the Mountain Lion OS and a deadline was looming. Murphy’s law kicked in and my Mac wouldn’t let me save files without me providing my passwords.

I started right clicking and changing the permissions manually (and using the gear to apply recursively) but that didn’t solve it. What the heck is going on? I had to start scouring the internet for an answer.

Here is what I used and it fixed my problem.

  1. Restart Mac.
  2. Hold down Command + R.
  3. Enter Utilities
  4. Repair the disk and permissions.
  5. Restart your mac and you should be off to the races again.
