Turn Off Annoying Windows 7 ‘click’ sound

As this simple but great article states:

The Windows Explorer click sounds are enough to drive you crazy after a while. You’d think that the configuration option to turn them off would be a checkbox saying “Stop Annoying Me”, but that’s just not the case.

 

Here’s the 2-step skinny:

  1. Right click your speaker icon (usually in bottom left of monitor)
  2. From the sound tab make the following change (set Start Navigation to ‘none’)
