Screencast: Part 28: Creating a Blog Page not on the home page

Whenever you build a WordPress site for someone they will inevitably ask you to make one of their pages a blog. In this screencast I show you how. Most of the times the blog will be on the home page and WordPress makes it super easy to do this. If however, you want to have the blog page not on the home page, it is a bit tricky but definitely doable.

Here is my page-current.php

[prettify]

query(‘showposts=3′.’&paged=’.$paged);
while ($wp_query->have_posts()) : $wp_query->the_post();
?>

[/prettify]
note: the code above is not escaping properly:
if you see $&; (that should just be $)
if you see & amp; (that should just be &)
